Department of Community Medicine

Under the string commitment of the College to community oriented medical education, the 1st and 2nd year MBBS students are required to visit rural communities for the purpose to achieve the objective of the community survey about data generation and studying the socio-economic, sanitary and health status of the population in the rural communities. In the 3rd and 4th year MBBS, the students are required to visit Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centers for their integrated curative training. For this purpose the department of Community Medicine has developed family Medicine Folder. The overall objective is to develop and set up approaches for doctors and medical students to get community oriented medical training, research motivation and solve community health and related problems. The students are kept involved directly to different communities in a bid to study their problems and think about the remedy while utilizing the medical capabilities so far gained in the college study. For this purpose Department of Community Medicine has a Museum having models, specimens and charts etc.
